چکیده

Excruciating pain is a common complication following breast surgery which can be effectively treated with double path PECS I and II blocks. Sixty patients undergoing were randomly assigned into two groups: Single-path (SP) group received single-path pectoral nerve (PECS) block, by injecting 0.25% bupivacaine 15 ml the space between serratus muscle pectoralis minor muscle, then withdrawing needle to inject equivalent dose of in plane muscles. Double (DP) block; injected muscles through one puncture similar was potential another puncture. Performance time technique, onset length sensory visual analogue ratings (VAS), satisfaction scores, postoperative analgesic requirements success rate outcomes. block had faster performance time. Pain scores at all periods, except for 10 hours postoperatively, where double-path lower scores. In lasted longer. Double-path injection higher levels. The use blocks beneficial approach, as it associated onset, levels, longer duration analgesia.

Pectoral nerves I and II blocks in multimodal analgesia for breast cancer surgery: a randomized clinical trial.

BACKGROUND The pectoral nerves (Pecs) block types I and II are novel techniques to block the pectoral, intercostobrachial, third to sixth intercostals, and the long thoracic nerves. They may provide good analgesia during and after breast surgery. Our study aimed to compare prospectively the quality of analgesia after modified radical mastectomy surgery using general anesthesia and Pecs blocks v...

Thoracic paravertebral block versus pectoral nerve block for analgesia after breast surgery

Paravertebral block; Pectoral nerve block; Breast surgery Abstract Background: Pectoral nerve block (Pecs) is a novel interfascial plane block which can provide analgesia after breast surgery while paravertebral block (PVB) is widely used for this purpose. We evaluated the difference between the two techniques in regard to morphine consumption and analgesic efficacy after modified radical maste...

Pectoral nerve block combined with general anesthesia for breast cancer surgery: a retrospective comparison

Background Acute postoperative pain is an integral risk factor in the development of chronic pain after breast cancer surgery (BCS). Pectoral nerve block (PECSB) has been recently reported as an analgesic method for BCS. Here, we retrospectively compared intraoperative opioid requirement, postoperative pain after BCS, and incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in patients who und...
